If you opened up UnrealEd you'd find that there are in fact, three shootspots in each goal.
oops, you're right. They just seemed to shoot in the middle all of the time :)

Great level! The depression in the middle really adds a hectic feel when the ballcarrier is just about stuck going down the middle (if they don't pass) Visual style is simple but effective. I usually don't care much for the simple dark concrete in space themes, but it's pulled off nicely here. The ...

Arr!! bad news on the spiral using portals: (quoted from UDN): WarpZones are only used for teleporting Pawns. Below is a list of restrictions on WarpZones: * You cannot see other players through them * Mirrors do not work correctly with WarpZones; avoid having mirrors face WarpZones * You cannot ...

I'm not the one to ask about it...I hope you didn't see the embarrassment that was the radar on my colosseum map...

I'm assuming this is the CTF-Face from UT, not UT2003?

Great. I like that idea so much that when I get home from school I'm gonna learn how to make portals (<.< >.>) and try to get that map working. I may have thought of a way around where to put the ballspawn though...instead of having two semicircles, you could have four - a blue side, neutral, red ...

Hey, I like that spiral one. What problems you have on the portals?

The hourglass looks like something that could be done pretty fast - you want to try it out Daz, or should I take a crack at it?

As a side note, has anyone tried converting a BR map to DB and playing that? I don't know how the dynamics would be really...probably bad (already heard David :) ) Just a thought. [edit] *squeal!* Look! http://deathball.gameservers.net/newsitem.php?news_ID=196 Now there's Arma and that guy! "Have ...

Well if nothing else I started some controversy, right? I understand Mayer saying we should have our own ideas, but sometimes forums like these inspire mappers to do cool things. A lot of differences in gameplay can come about by adding different details to the same basic shape. If we did ...

New shapes !?

It seems like all the maps coming out now are either cubes or circles, with the occasional U thrown in. While fun, a new "shape" could certainly be interesting.

I guess any other quirky ideas would be appreciated too :)

Didn't consider the campers...

A DB conversion would be great, especially if you made the ground a little bumpy so vollies and lazy passes would go crazee :)

I like the look, it's very atmospheric.

Some burnt-umber (Crayola colors! :)) light fog may help it even more. Not enough to obscure anything, but just help set the mood.

Excellent concept on the goal, and nice attention to subtle detail, like being able to look through the damaged wood door.

I'm not at my deathball computer - just my wimpy note-taking laptop - but as soon as I get to it I'll write some more helpful feedback :)
