db-curve

i understand why the size was made smaller, but why lose the bits behind the goals..without them it looks sparse and a bit noobish. my two cents

I concur, the old Curve was fine as it was. All it needed was blocking volumes to prevent people getting behind those goals.

aye, and blocking volumes up the top, so it acted like a flat wall.
the old curve was absolutely fine =)

since its now a flat wall all the way up, its taking skill out of self volleys, and yes verry noobish.

is also possible for a keeper to banana it into a goal, i done that before \o/

Welcome to 9 months ago...

When I made Curve there were tons of people bitching about the cages behind the goals. I already stopped playing DB there so I wasn't able to really test the stuff with some people. I had to trust on some peoples opinions.

And as you might know we have a Team Leader who is in the position to decide things concerning the mod and the map. And he said that it would be better to remove the cage and make the walls flat. That was decided over 9 months ago and it won't be changed back.

There are always people who dislike stuff. The main problem is that the people who like something don't join such a discussion, so you only got the people posting, who dislike it, and it seems like everybody hates it. Infact there were more people disliking it, so it got removed.

Cages had to go for visual reason, they were irritating. All walls at eye-height have to be plain, anything else is just confusing, people in front of it tend to get "invisible" etc. you know.

Sure I won't, because it's MY map.

And it's part of the Deathball Mod. Only mappers of the Deathball Team are allowed to put their hands on my map.

And if there is a decision from the TeamLeader to change the map, I'd do it myself or let DavidM edit it.

I knew because I was told that most people dislike it. Ever thought why there was no thread in over 9 months with anyone complaining about curve? Maybe there were a few people caomplaining from time to time, but that's the usual buisness.

Except the decision. It's up to you if you want to play the map or not. It is impossible for a Level Designer to create a map that everybody likes.

I love the map, db-curve is my favourite, but I think the old one was better, and I personally dont know a person from the db community that disagrees
