Hmmmmmmm...The problem is that each year another Unreal Tournament will come out and knowing Epic it won't be much different but it won't be backwards compatible...So are we gonna be in the same position when UT2K5, UT2K6 etc come out?

DavidM, will 1.9b be UT2K4 only then? Basically I wanna know how long my UT2K3 will be worth having...

Think of this way. Would you quite happily pay £25 for a retail version of deathball, with free upgrades for a year (or more)?

im sure we wont see a 2k5 anytime soon, since 2k3 was a little of a lazy job and 2k4 just puts that right... sort of.

also im looking foward to any of the added things 2k4 can alow modders to do (even if not different, just nicer for the modder aka menus).

Maybe the subscriptions for patches etc is £10 a year, though, so it isnt a massive loss - to Epic and us - wont happen though :'O(

BTW: As far as I know, next UT is based on Unreal 3 engine, which should come out in 2006, over 2 yeahrs.

Cause I dont believe it come out at the planed date.

123/4 will probably keep the 2k3 server till 2k4db is final...maybe..we broke the server installing it earlier so im gunna have to wait for bedlam to do it

next version for 2k4 will be 2.0, the one with the models etc added will be 3.0

i am not sure about the decision to put out a db beta so soon with a lot of ppl still hoplessly addicted to ons (which is worth the cost its self) but maybe it will be good for the db community to expand a little before all the big clans make the move

What would be nice, is that Deathball would win the MSU contest, get a license, and make DB a standalone thing, where they can do whatever the hell they want with it... Should get into more interesting things like multiple ball maps (Especially for training maps) and other things to get around the specific UT hangups that have cause the programmers of DB so many headaches!
