It's kinda how you'd expect a game released in 3 years time to look. :)

IDD...

U kiddies today and your fancy graffix

some of the best fun I've had playing games was using 8-bit graphics

The background is just a blur anyway in an action game...irrelevant...but if u'r playing an rpg or an adventure like myst...then it's worth it.

I'm pretty sure the first game to use this engine will be single player.

As far as graphics go, artistic flair is much more important to me than technical merit. Somthing like Broken Sword or Last Blade impress me more than most modern 3D games.

as mentioned... it makes a huge difference for single player... it lets u get mentally involved withthe game and the story much more effectively...

for multiplayer... u can play multiplayer pong with a white vertical line and still have a great time.

Ya, in multiplayer they'll have models with 1.000.000 polygons and beautiful flashy backgrounds..but you won't see the enemy moving because they blend in with the background \o/

BTW, I hope this is remotely the style to be used in the next real unreal game (be it single or multiplayer, but by god please let it be better than Unreal 2 if it is single). It rocks :> besides all the zombie doom 3 shit..I like the gothic/romantic style :o
