I was at one of the big army bases in the netherlands today, some kind of special day and we got into alot of great things.. Been in a driving tank, a mercedes offroad jeep, an army truck. shot a stinger missile, shot with the diemaco (m16), shot a sniper, been doing some driving simulators and saw some great airshows, been the hostage for a commando-rescue-operation... saw paradiving etc.. great fun! been there from 7:00 am till 17:00 pm. Anyway, I was so excited about the fact I knew the names of more guns then some of the old veterans, and I'm referring to old guns

m1 garant, sten, tommygun etc.. they asked me where I got this knowledge and basicly I responded: "games". Its so true, the m1 garant, the sten and the kar were exactly in real life like in Call of duty and it kinda petrified me about the realness of these games. Bfvietnam for example, the chinook, I could sit in one and like watch the air demo of it.. god.. this gave me even more respect for bfvietnam because it was Identical *when im infantry in bfvietnam I often see those nooks fly

When I could shot the Diemaco (m16) I also noticed how game experiences DOES help... they put me infront of a moving target from 25 metres with a small cross in the body.. The objective was to hit that cross 10 times and the furtest shot shouldnt be removed more then 4 cm from the other furtest shot. If a real soldier could pull this off he can pass his shooting exam in real life training these days.. after a couple of practise rounds I also got the gun and shot 4.02 cm from distance

bummer, but I'll do it better next time
Anyway, kinda off topic eh?

Just a big up to certain games for making it look so real..
