Dear mr M!
Please get some betatesters, if its runs fine on your rig doesn't mean it runs good on everybodys rig duh?
Now all the other mods I've seen and play (frag ops, red orchestra) they all have beta testers and have less of those annoying (servers browser, startup, ini deleting etc etc bugs)
I completely support that idea since I don't personally see any sense to make all releases public. It's pretty stressful to code something that goes out without proper testing.
BTW, anyone who wants to test next version bots should send mail to makush@suomi24.fi and say bling in e-mail subject line. I'd like some beginners to test them too.

So far public beta testing got us good results in the end, but if you like we can do it internally.
Whoever has time and wants to, email me at davidm@planetunreal.com (put your email in the body) AND join #dbbeta on quakenet in irc + perform it.
But don't bother joining if you didn't mail me

I'm sure if you'd put it on the main page, not only would you get all the noobs to use IRC, but you'd also get a reasonable amount of people to actually test it.
It also raises awareness to the fact it actually *is * a beta and isn't supposed to be fully supported or done in any way, something which a lot of people seem to forget atm.
Well I agree most people on the intarweb aren't too good at constructional commentary, but I guess you could at least try, you can filter out the repeated crap and the 'this game sucks' comments.
