Listen server = Server with a client up as well, so the player hosting it has 0 ping (mostly used by home users to setup small games on their own connection).

Dedicated server = server just on it's own, no client, so no graphical setup needed etc.

Idd it is rather annoying because when you want to go to a nearly full server all you see are these listen servers

Then you hit ping and it all goes away! ^_^

But seriously.... Kinda hard to believe there are people playing this game at home and hosting a server o_O
