...but the community is dying a lil each day.
I guess most of us would be glad to see new people playing deathball.
The question is: how can we get some 'fresh blood' into this community?
The main problem I see is that people who try this mod get frustrated in the first few minutes 'cause of flaming or even just because they see 'veterans' playing kinda godlike...
Well, all of us know some people from other communities so why don't we just tell 'em about db and ask them to try it on a 'SPECIAL NOOB DAY'?
We could arrange something like a Noob-Pickup and/or let them spectate a funwar to see how deathball can be played.

atm its not going well, cuz we have no proper version for ut2004 up, which should change soon

It could be an idea to popup the about page of deathball after a succesfull installation. So n00bs get there face pressed into the rules of the game and maybe add a clear dictonary of the deathball terms too.

Lock the game so that there is no way they can play on-line till they have passed a deathball exam!!!! with practical tests that they have to pass...like passing, shooting, volleys, abuse and wall-whoring!!!

like I said. someone should be emailing all the news sites bluesnews, planet unreal etc. and letting them know every release, every bug fix. deathball should be a household name ;P

Anyway, things like this have been suggested many times.
Noob-pickups: not gonna happen
Flaming: old problem, will always be there I'm afraid /o\ not only in Deathball, but more regardless, because everyone can actually *see* your mistakes and they can't do anything if you leave the ball
More publicity: 2.0 is already bringing in new people, people are still buying UT2004, and if 2.0 is official and promoted sufficiently, it will be pretty much a sure-fire way to get more people playing

Funny you should mention that, we're planning a sort of beginners night at some point in the near future . I think the best thing that'll help the community is to just go and advertise everywhere you possibly can, and get more people involved in the game

2.0 has got loooads of newbies, few newbies from 1.9 that never heard of pickup or anything :):):):)
lolz, that also would be a good idea about the exam :p but not to determine online play

too attract more people = make deathball a mod which comes with ut2kX, like assualt, actually be there without downloading it, it should be as it won the make something unreal comp ^^
but aswell there are too many fags in the "community" (i dont care if u think i am /o\)
