2.0 - What do you think?!

Post by BL44T »

Surprised this thread hasn't been started yet.
I like this version, also thanks to smooth UT2004 gameplay.
As usual, small *improvements* which some people may like/not like. For me, the only thing I don't really like are the custom players, but thats my own opinion and something I can live with.
Again I say;

gg DavidM (and team) ;)

I'd have to agree, for me, its much more playable, true, I miss my fat girl, but these aren't too bad! :)
It is more fair for defenders too which makes me happy course, now lets just hope the newbies float in

I've not played it yet, but I was beta testing and it plays very well. I played a 1.9 match yesterday and there was a big difference. 2.0(beta) is soooo much better...

Like relik told me the other day, it just feels a lot more 'solid'. I'm excited about 2.0 because i hope more poeple will try it out and join the community... oh, and the other thing is that 2k4's netcode makes it a LOT more playable if you're playing from euro->NA servers or the other way around... much nicer :). I hope to see more euro vs NA games in the future.

there is always somthing to bitch about! lemme start it! ha ha..

the skins are a given. i pray they'll get better in the next version now that gameplay is pretty good.

the bounce is fixed. and sometimes it seems like a curse. mostly cuz in the event of 3 attackers crashing the net and defense fighting them off. sometimes a pinball machine effect happens when someone shoots. its realisitc enough tho i just giggle about it.

cube is laggy for me, which is wierd. it never was before. maybe i should blame epic. tho maybe its that blasted tv. i'll hafta try it on low world details i guess.

bowl, well i just say never ever put corronas on the field. unless they're the beer :D

ok. small bitches aside. I love 2.0 bots are fun, new players are joining. three cheers for DB!

I agree,

I've recently started playing db again after some time away. I've yet to try 2.0 release, but the betas were a enjoyable. The netcode seems a lot smoother - i was playing on a NA server without realising it (apart form having to hit slightly earlier). The tweaks seem to be well thought out and the whole feel of the game is a lot more polished - and just as much fun!

Hopefully I'll get my head around a stupid mouse/wireless issue im having and see you all soon in a server some time.

There were also some big network flaws in DB code. I guess they had been there since ~v1.6... Interestingly enough, I noticed some of them not before than yesterday. :)
