^^ wat berk said.

One of the worst aspects of "higher" level db is people who volley spam everything.

A well placed shot is far more stisfying in my own opinion, and there is nothing more annoying than tools who have an open shot suddenly lay up a volley to a teamate over the other side of the pitch :/ annoys me to hell

alt fire = King.

Having said that Volleying does have its uses and certainly should b practised.

If your feeling stupid attempting volleys on goal in game, somthing you could try is mayb try vollying and catching, volley the ball at the wall as it comes to you and catch it, then lay off a simple alt fire pass, that way your getting used to the timing of the volley and still helping with the attack without shooting miles wide.

But hey wat do i know, i suk at the volley, id rather catch and alt fire it in thx :)

*heh i actually had "tools who have an open shit" before the edit , shuda left it really :D

I practiced my volleys offline, in db-trainingcourt without any bots. Just volleyed the ball around for half an hour to get the feeling and timing right.
I still do it sometimes tbh.

good way to practice is just to fire up a single player game, or go into an empty server (they arent hard to find) and just start hitting the ball against the wall. See how long you can keep your volley going.

Only tips i can give, is use your middle radar to your advantage, you can aim on your screen, and use the middle radar to see when the ball is coming for your timing. Once you practice your timing and get it down, you can probably do turn shots, where you watch the ball come at you and turn at the last minute and volley it at the goal, its a lot harder and less accurate, but it works.

Deffinately. even a step better is with enough practice using the middle radar. once you get the hang of how passing works (ie: when you see catch the ball on your screen, you know it going to you at your current path) so with enough practice you don't even hafta see the ball comming you know once on your center radar you see the ball you can move sideways, or jump or what not so the ball will pass you and fire at the right time to change its dirrection.

you may have seen some of the good players do this on servers icho.

I, too, am a newb, and I think the reason most of us are wanting to learn volley goals is because a lot of the servers are volley only. Nearly every American server, which is where I'm at, is volley only, and I have no freakin' clue how to volley. So I'm pretty much screwed.

Feel free to contact Messy on irc.quakenet.org or irc.gamesurge.net
