moving goals

Post by R3L!K »

just wondered if it was possible to make a map with moving goals.

i thought if both goals moved slowly from left to right on a cube/nov style map it might be interesting.

would probably need to place the goal and keeper area on a slightly raised platform in order that people know where the kill zones are (as i doubt the lines on the floor could be made to move)

I tried doing it a while back. You can move goals around, but moving the goalzone and penalty zone cant be done from what I found. Maybe if you used a brush with a hole in it as a mover or whatever, then put a goalzone behind it that spans the range of the moving goal, may work.

I was just too lazy to keep trying to find a way. :)

can you change a zone to a static mesh? if so then it can be done as a 'mover'

lol, no you can't turn zones into meshes.

AFAIK the only way to do it would be if the whole map moved apart from the goals and zones. It would probably turn into a mess though and you'd notice it moving when you jump.

Doesn't seem workable to me.

you can hack around it

goal zone is behind the pitch, and you move the hole from left to right etc, the rest is behind a wall, so you can only score by hitting the hole

True for the goal zones but what about the penalty zones? Guess you'd have to make them the whole length of the pitch?

Pzones still wouldnt work, that would bemore the issue than the goal moving.

sounds fun, make the goal smaller then a normal sized goal. keeping will be hard as it is. might as well make it harder to score to even it up. like geeball hole :)

Ever? Yes. Often? No.

I don't really go on the deathball channels if that's what you mean.
