that's what I meant by the concept of radio, although on the other hand, I'm continuously bugged by the fact that I can't choose what music *I* want to hear

this also because of the inevitable commercial influences in the station's playlist, although I understand this is less true with internet radio.
It all depends on the way you look at it, but as I said, going to your local recordshop (or another one) can give you enough interesting (or even random) albums to listen to and perhaps also buy.
Then again, their collection also suffers from commercial influences (yet I feel there is more choice

).
I guess there's a lot of ways of finding out new music (going to your recordshop, listening to the (internet) radio, going to gigs or festivals, reading about other bands' influences, talking to friends with the same (or another) music taste, reading/posting on forums, etc.)
I just personally prefer most of them above radio
Maybe I'm too picky on choosing my own music :<
