A combo of Inphidel and The_Ones could be explored. I not sure a bigger ball will look good at all or fit with the models and gun. The rings work - you just need something different.

A round glowing/pulsating/radiating something that goes around the ball. Maybe something similar to the shield effect that is around the power core in ONS - just in a sphere and different color. Or a similar effect to an engine flame. Toned down with no white but something that feels like the ball is radiating power. A intense yellow (or what ever color) that radiates outward in all directions and fades out.

well if you need the 2 radius's you could do somthing like those electric glass balls, that you touch and the electricity comes out to eh glass.

cept not as much electricty as this, just enough to get the idea of the radius

As an addition for Inphidels idea, maybe add a green smoketrail or something, to make it easier to track te ball around in the court. It doesn't have to be some thick smoke, maybe just a light green smoke, matching the color inside the ball.

Edit: This would be replacing the rings ofcause

Maybe something like the Sun in DB-DragonIsle. The outer radiating stuff. Need to see it ingame.

i like it :) - personally i have never liked the db models in 2.0 or the ball - u have done a great job and if the model looks half as good as the concept art ill be happy =)

I like it, but I can't help thinking how it would look playing that charactar on DB-Legofan.

DB has pretty much 'fun' maps and charactars atm, except the most recent ones (Smallcube and Wastelands).

So it looks like DB is going darker and more serious.
I personally like it, it will certainly shut all those tards out there from still calling Deathball a 'fun mod' :blabla:

Scars/tattoos, good. Fits perfectly.

Ball, good. Just without the rings ^ .

1 suit should do the trick, but of course with many options, mainly the ones Twigstir mentioned, sleeveless, spikes, that sort of thing.
Shirtless sure would look cool, but it would be very hard to make it look realistic.

(ps. topless + female models = win ;))

Anyway, very nice :D I don't like the ball all that much (not at all), but the model is definitely very good!

I love black ;p and he looks cool \o/
It would make it so much harder to put in colourful things though (seeing as that's the stuff a lot of people seem to like ;) trying to be the most extraordinary character possible), but it's definitely cool :)

Good luck with the rest man, a sexy female model in the same style would be leet \o/

ps: Sixty, topless models would make this game into a huge joke ¬_¬
But you weren't serious on that anyway \o/

ps: How would you apply the glows and smokes etc. that were suggested to the actual model once it picks up the ball? o_O
Back to the ring? :o

It would be cool if an animation would be created in which an illuminous ring would take 1.5 or 2 seconds to 'grow' around the character :o

About the ball, the main problem is that the model is too small actually so it need to be highlighted by something else. It would be nice rings goes away but atm they are too much important for the game play even if they scream bombing run. So, seeing you can't make the ball model bigger, you could try to replace them with something exactly same useful.

hey hold on, the ball problem is already fixed since an old ut2003 patch :P

you know the option where a player gets a light colour glow when too far away, add it to the ball?

so as the ball is close its basicly normal with the glowing eyes, but as it gets far away it starts to show a green glow getting stronger as it goes away.
