"Getball" Feature

I dunno just been thinking of this idea. When in practice mode (goals do not count), there should be a "getball" feature or option. Imagine this: you are in DB-Mixercube, alone, practicing shots against the goal. You shoot the ball, hit a post, and it rolls halfway down the field. Wouldn't it be nice if you could type "getball" in the console and the ball immediately is under your possession again?

This might seem a little ludacris, but its a pain to chase even on small maps like DB-SmallEnclosure. It would just help practicing alone out so much, and possibly give newbs a leg up on shooting prac.

Now I know what you are thinking, "what if some guy uses this in a pub to ch34t3 0mg b4n!" It would only be enabled in Practice mode, thus ensuring that it would not matter if the ball was taken away.

Second off, if someone already had possession of the ball, the command would not work. Therefore you couldn't "steal" the ball from someone else.

Agreed. We have this in Gravball (somewhat like Deathball only you ride hoverbikes and have various weapons). It's very useful for practicing shots.

Anyway, I use to be a lead in the Gravball league (http://www.radiationconsulting.com/IGBL), but now I just play in the league.

Some of you may be familiar with Gravball, it's part of Infantry (formerly hosted by Harmless Games). It was bought out by Sony Online Entertainment a while back and now it costs $7.95 a month to play. Their link is: http://www.infantryzone.com

EDIT: You can still play for free without paying the month charge however you are stuck using a ~Guest##### alias and can't have chat channels. I think their may also be some zones you can't enter.

All those are still around, however I don't venture out of Gravball much. If you love Deathball, you should come back and play Gravball occassionally. I think they have what's called 'Free Fridays' now where you won't have to use a guest alias on Fridays.

I never liked Infantry.

And I think guests get kicked from the server if paying members want to join

I have a friend who used to play it a lot

he's called Hoodz or Hootz or something similar (you probably know him if you're old-skool

)
He lives near me, supposed to be pretty good
