are there enough clans for another dbl tho? I tried to get a little competition running to mark the return of TEZC to DB, and we got 5 clans sign up for it not really enough for a competition. DB as a clan game dead? looking like it.
I have no idea why the majority has stopped playing DB.
I, personally, have been having connection problems for months, causing me to only ever so often play 1 or 2 pub games.
That's every 3 weeks or so, I'll play a couple of games, before the constant 5-second lag-outs (of the 'people running into the walls'-type) and constant ping fluctuations get to me (60 to 130, all the time).
I'd love getting back into DB and possibly playing in a clan..but that's not really possible atm.
There havent been many new people moving from pub play to IRC for a while now, and I agree with Sixty. No decent competition gives no real reason to play.
I think you'd find more clans would at least play more often with a DBL, and sorry Axl bout the cup, i don't tend to check the DBL threads so i didn't see it till too late
I still think that the lack of good public games keeps the rookies away. There are no good regular games on pubs anymore. And VO really gives Deathball not the credit what it should get.
Thing is, I read lots of things about the pickups being better games than the pubs, but thats rather logical since there is noone on pubs. If all the 1337 and veteran were on pubs, those would rock once more.
I think, to get more dedicated ppl, you need more regular players. Regular players only play pubs. To get regular players you need n00bs to like public games.....
The BuD public server allows 12 men in any large map.
If there's >=10 men in it, you are able to vote up DB-BigLowCube and the playercount will expand to 16 with no specs.
I have been using variable maxplayers counts on it and what little feedback I have received has been positive about it. I had a running thread about the server that I may recover from the now dead/damaged db-community.com forum and put into the server forum here.
