Pick-up problems

I believe there has already been a post about people who leave pick-up games half way through, spoiling every1's fun...but what about people who join a pickup game as a defender, then spend the entire match in the oppositions half, most of the time as the farthest man forward....who don't even jump back to defence when i boost them

Happened yesterday with a player that i had just left a public server to get away from his ball-hogging/ goalhanging, only to find him turn up in the pick-up game i was in.

I am an attacker usually, but have played quite a few pickup games as defense cos i was late to join the match and attackers always sign up 1st...so why when i finally get in early, should i have to spend half the game covering back cos some1 can't play his position?

Can we have a thread in this forum somewhere where we can name these players that ruin an otherwise good game of deathball, so they can be watched in the future?

Yeah, pickup games are 90% of the time totaly fucked.
With people leaving (coughholycough) and alot of noobs

Indeed. We dont really have a proper solution to this afaik, Because anyone who can use irc can join. But soon, Goldy will implement voice and op only games, So we can have a all trusted people game $\o/$

But who decides who is trusted?

Well I think most ops know whos trusted, and if not it may have to be trial and error.

finally decided what the yellow card will do:
- can't join op/voice only games (well he's not able to get voice, so :p)
- will be visually marked in teamlist [probably by a shiny yellow color :p ] so you know whom to watch out for

but only advancing slowly due to lack of time -_-
maybe finished by the end of the week, maybe in two, dunno yet

well, i've also implemented a userflag that sets a voiced person as trusted, don't know though if it's of any use ^^

What about users like me that at the moment haven't played in a pickup, therefore i am not noted down as trusted. But i have been around for a while and probably have ppl that can vouch that i know how to play.

It will suck if one day i go to play and find i cant.

As for people who aint played pickup and "cant be trusted" .. if people (admins) in the chan know u, u'll be fine
