I've got it.
Everyone who wants to go towards the house has wanted something inside. Me, my cat. Elsa, her jewellery. Tin Man can see what he really wants outside of the house and is therefore not attracted to it. Whether the things are in the house or the house is just playing tricks on us I don't know. But until I can actually see my cat again or Elsa can see her jewellery, I guess we'll still be attracted to the house.
@Tin Man: You said you saw a tree. Do you see any particular reason for that?
