Lignin? I didn't even know things like that exist ... Which plant could be powerful enough?
I mean, I don't want to kill any plant, I always left enough so that the tree could regenerate!

It's the stuff that makes wood hard and fibrous. Some of your tissue seems to be taking on those characteristics as you take on the energy. That's why you feel funny.
How about the grass? That's not so tough.

I can try ... though Bugz will be scared when he sees brown grass again, like it happened when that black spirit hid inside Thursday!
How can I get rid of that lignin?

I don't know. I can't think of any chemicals that could break it down but not hurt eukaryotic cells.
Or we could dedicate part of the vegetable garden to energy storage for you?

I could probably genetically engineer a bacterium that breaks down lignin to ignore everything else and thus not harm you. If you introduce that bacterium to your normal gut flora, you should have no difficulty with trees anymore.

I guess I should try that. Otherwise I become as useless as before ...

I'll have to work on it overnight.
In the meantime, make sure you take plenty of fluids to avoid stiffening up completely.

Well, since I have to wait until I get some milk rationed, I should go to the pond and try to drink it empty!

Rationed? Plus I wouldn't advise drinking stagnant water. There's a tap in my lab.
