No, that shouldn't be necessary. Hopefully these bacteria will colonise her mucus epithelia quickly, and she should have no more problems with lignin-derived stiffness.

@Tinman: It's a new hybrid I've engineered - it can digest lignin like some streptomyces, but it has much more in common with ordinary gut bacteria. Actually, I derived the bulk of the genotype from this:
