Deathball Skill

Post by Imaginos »

This looks like some fun.

I will create a custom votable gametype for this map on BuD Public server once I get back to New Jersey.. I'm in NH/Mass for at least another day though.

DavidM, where are you harvesting these scores from? I wonder if I can automatically track this stuff in the stats I'm working on... hmm.. Something to think about on my long drive home.

Wow.. the response has been pretty overwhelming. Plus after a closer look at what is going on, I see automating the scoring really isn't an option at all.

I guess this map can go up on bud2 for those that want to muck with it.

you shouldnt let it run public :)
we have now 4 testers, when people want to be tested for it, they go thru it all with them, they collect the scores...give em to me, i update the ranking etc.

no use in letting people on there without an official tester

Well, except to practice, see other's technique etc. Needs more balls though.

Yarr. It's not public, had to look at it a lil bit to see that it's got no scoring in it -- needs an observer. So it's in BuD2 for those that want to practice with others in semi-privacy.

I suppose some would say you had to do it in one try, but then again; since people can publically get the map and practice until they can do a run optimally showing their potential..

..I say it should be worth considering for the olympics guys to let beefy into the rankings \o/

its about being nervous when you are being officially tested
AND the "times tested" go into the ranking as well (with equal points etc they matter)
thats why demos arent accepted

you can call an official tester to your server imag, keep it there...
its just important that the players have a good ping, tester ones dont matter

Might have something to do with being familiar with the course vs seeing it at test time only.

For example, having Cheops available for practice helps you get thru that obstacle course with ease.
