First off, hello everyone...I've finally registered to the forum. Some of you probably have played me, or seen me in dbpickup.

And now onto the real business...
I like the way 1.7 is shaping up..mostly. If I don't mention it here, it means I like it. But there a few things that bug me. Mostly about the new gun.

1: The new hammer sound is odd. It sounds "under-powered" unlike the old shield-gun "bang". Any way to keep the old noise? My ears have gotten so used to it.
2:It feels like you're gliding around the pitch, rather than running. Give us weapon bob!
3:Similar to 2, the gun ought to have a bit more recoil after shooting.
4:The "pass to me" used to make the shieldgun kick back when released...can we have this back too?
5: Bots can't quite pass properly, as every pass lands about 2 meteres in front of you. Quite annoying. Not that I botplay much, but that's how I tested it...

Aside from that...its looking pretty good to me.

Solution to #5 - Wait a few versions for "serious bot support" as DavidM put it.

1, The new gun sounds are crap. The shot sounds like hair clippers and the shield sounds like a staple gun. Stick to the old ones. We need *some* weaponbob. Remember: if people dont like it they can disable it in the options menu. Don't try and prevent us ALL from having it. :P Other than that, I love the new gun.
2, The new LowCube is OK.
3, The new passme is much more noticable.
4, The crashing every 2 minutes feature is quite unique too.
5, The scoreboard is still buggy as hell.

Here's what I don't like:

- LowCube is now even uglier than before (didn't think this was possible)
- The new weapon sound is dreadful. Sounds like a fart and it doesn't convey any sense of power like a weapon should.
- The sound you hear when in you catch the ball is too discreet. It should be louder and crisper, not the dull 'click' you get at the moment. When you have the ball a better visual single is needed. A small green button on the weapon is insufficient.
- The new pass sound isn't good either. There was no need to change this sound at all, but if you have to, at least make it sound good!
- The shot powerup and post hit sounds are too quite. Amplify them please.
- Bad passes are still too harsh. A shot saved by the keeper shouldn't go down as a bad pass. Nor a shot that hits the post and rebounds to an opposition player. In 1.6 you lost 2 pts for a bad pass, in 1.7 beta if scores were still used, everyone would end up with a minus score.
- Why no weaponbob at all? Please add.
- THE GOALKEEPERS. FFS LEAVE THEM AS THEY ARE IN 1.6. You will piss off every keeper in DB if these changes make it into 1.7. No-one ever complains a keeper is too good, so STOP FUCKING WITH THE DYNAMICS OF KEEPING.
- I scored 7 goals and the stats screen claimed I had scored 6 hat-tricks. Something doesn't add up there.

The other changes are for the better and the stats on the whole (although buggy) are excellent. But do something about the sounds and leave goalkeeping as it is in 1.6.

only gripe i have is lowcube isn't LOW anymore. What is your problem with needing to add shit to your maps that are useless. Get rid of the stupid mountains and the ghey wind noise.

Forgot to mention that

Quadjump is not the problem with the keepers...It's the fact that dodge has been changed, and for the worse...

im with plaer with half of that, weapon bob needs to be back at least 50%, not completely removed. its like you got robotic arms or wheels for feet.

i love the new noises, maby the powering up could be louder but i like them myself :D

the way the gun kicks after using "pass to me" i thought was so you cannot call and then shieldgun it away in a split second, but without it im fine with it.

and hello! i seen you in pubs alot in the last few days.

just played a real game of 1.7...and ur back to ur usual stuff davidm.
WTF DID YOU DO TO THE KEEPER!!
1/2 dodge distance..
on top of that, keepers now have to deal with .1 change time and not being able to hear the fkn charge noise.
Maybe you should stop sucking davidm instead of changing the keeper dodge distance.

Has anyone else encountered that 1.7 fucks up the server. We tried to test it out, but server resetted several times before we got pissed about it and down-graded back to 1.6. If DavidM thinks 1.7 is close to be release, he should take another look.

sigh...If the keeper rumors are true(which I believe them to be) then the only thing that changes is now you have 30-28 scores instead of 15-13 scores because the keepers won't be able to stop anything. I'm gonna have to test this out for myself but the last time I beta'd my system go hosed....

well, my biggest problem is we put it on our server to try it out in a fun war against DEUS, shortly after deathball crashed (AGAIN) and it took out the server.. even gameserver.net couldnt get it back and in the end they had to re-install it! :o Now because of this I'm not prepared to put 1.7 on our server until i can be told it wont do this anymore. A simple mod shouldnt do this to a server :s

Looks like 1.7 won't be out in the near future then...It clearly has serious stability issues...

Just in case I didn't make myself clear the first nine times LEAVE THE KEEPERS AS THEY ARE IN 1.6.

well i do like the new patch.

Im not sure if i like the new lowcube textures :/
i do like the gun, and the bots are reasonable keepers =)

I realllly really like the bar sound :x
Maybe u guys should make a colour on the gun so u know u have the ball, like red light when u dont have it, green when u have it..


Anyway i do like this patch, even though there should be more awards =0. Good job guys , btw when will it be released? :rolleyes: :lol: :spammer: :spammer: :spammer:
