Then what's the problem with looking for it yourself? o_O
there's absolutely no problem with that. i just don't like to do it, i prefer to let things come their way..

Surely you can't trust MTV to filter what you hear..
believe me, i have a lot of other sources when it comes to music, every time i go to a friend's house i listen to smthg new.

ps: Being open-minded doesn't mean you have to actually like everything..
..just that you're able to appreciate it for what it is, giving you the ability to not only have valid arguments for your personal dislike; you'll also learn to respect people that like other things
It's still way easier to just say everything else sucks though
yes that's true i totally agree.. but why are you telling me that?

i never said the guideline was wrong
i just think it's wrong to make guidelines when it comes to art
There's nothing wrong with making a base from where people can improve their skills (piano in this case). If your intelligent, talented and creative enough to invent something new (Liszt and Schönberg) you're completely free to do so.

didn't you play notpr0n?
He's basically telling you it's worth it to learn random stuff.
Didn't you enjoy notpr0n teaching you morse and how to handle applications etc.?
This is basically advising the same thing :\
Are there any arguments why you regard this as 'stupid stuff'?
Because I'm quite curious
I agree there, NotPr0n is great for the brain, each level has a completely new thing to find out about (usually ), especially the positives. So far in the negatives it is mostly complicating skills learned in the positives. I guess this is why I preferred the positives (sorry Messy, had to add that XD). Anyway I think my mind is more open, better for problem solving, Googling, and lots of other random skills. That's mainly why I love NotPr0n, but I agree with Slimshady too.
