It's a given that the old and new testaments will in a lot of points contradict eachother.
That's no problem since the old testament is only a basis for the new testament, thereby creating the fundament of Christianity out of Judaism.
Even in the new testament itself you'll find many contradictions I suppose, regardless of many attempts to censor, explain or overrule them by both the Catholic and Orthodox churches (and to a lesser extent the protestant churches).
