DB UT2004 mac - problems
Sorry but I'm having difficulty searching for this answer because the word "Mac" is too short to search with. basically i've downloaded the deathball ZIP, unzipped it, copied it to my "Unreal Tournament 2004.app" directory, cd'ed into the /system directory and entered the following into the terminal:
./ut2004-bin -mod=deathball
and a message came up saying "UT2004 quit unexpectedly". the command "./ut2004-bin works fine and brings up the main game but adding the mod extension seemed to screw things up
does anyone know what's going wrong?
UPDATE: here's what happens when i enter the command:
ben-wadsworths-imac-g5:/applications/unreal tournament 2004.app/system benwadsworth$ ./ut2004-bin -mod=deathball
Signal: SIGBUS [bus error]
Aborting.
Crash information will be saved to your logfile.

i think i'm past those bits - i've opened the .app package (which is the problem the person in the first link is facing) and added the 'deathball' folder. i've done the same in application support (whether or not this is necesary i dont know, just covering my bases). then type the aforementioned command into terminal, and it gives me a SIGBUS error, which from what i gather means that my command is trying to access a memory address which is either forbidden or empty, which leads me to think that the command fails to draw the necessary 'stuff' from the files
this is, of course, really annoying. i'm still working on solving it and i'll get back to you if i find out how to, but other than that any help is appreciated
meanwhile i encourage the development team to check out the new macs at http://www.apple.com
