England team were still far from their best, but there were at least some glimmers of what some of them are made of :)

But everyone loves to hate them, so I doubt that view would have changed ! :P:P

Looking forward to seeing if Argentina are still on form today :)

That's it.

3 games, 3 wins.

Again we played in "minimal mode", but got the victory and that's what matters.

Gratz to Mexico, imo it was the best performance so far by them in this WC. It's a pity that Angola couldnt make it, but Mexico is the one that deserves to be in the next round.

I hope that resting some key players and playing at 10% speed could pay off in the next round, but we already did what we really should have done, and that is winning this group, now whatever comes is just a nice bonus and we shouldnt feel to bad if we lose, Argentina and Holland are great teams and whoever comes, i just hope that it will be a great match, and if portugal wins: WOOHOO :D

And we meet The Netherlands again. Hope it will be a great match.

But it would be kinda fun to watch Portugal play Argentina, we rarely play against each other, and we have been crossing our paths with NED quite frequently lately.

Dutch footy supporters are crazy o_O

Also, are they actually the only ones with their own (orange) camping?

We do? Im realizing respect, but no fear. Of course it is the first bigger team to play against, but the team and the fans seems to be ready for this and look with a full package of self-confidence to that match \o/

The danger of going home is given in every elimination-match, but my pant is drained ;)

Sweden is not being impressive at all in this WC, i think Germany are in better form and will win, plus the home advantage will help either.

Yeah I actually think Germany will get a win from Sweden. It will be a tuff match but I think Germany will pull through in the end. Looking at Sweden so far they have just been scraping through, Germany on the other hand have had more moments of good football :)

One thing is for sure Eng v Ecu will be a very nail biting match for me !! ^^

Well done Italy and Ghana. They deserved to go through (doubt either will get any further). Ghana v USA has to go down for me as the match with the most cheating so far. The amount of diving and play acting by Ghana was insane and poor Markus Merk (bad ref) fell for nearly all of it. To be fair to the USA though, Claudio Reyna probably deserves the oscar for being strechered off after giving the ball away that led to Ghana's first goal, only to sprint back onto the field moments later. He had a crafty look after the tackle, saw that Dramani was clean through and decided not to get back up. Who can blame him? I won't mention the 'penalty'.

So Italy is alive after all. :D

Czech Rep. leaving in the group phase was unexpected at the start, but it does Ghana justice, they were not very good against USA, and that penalty was too forced, tbh, but hey, Ghana deserved to celebrate.

gotta feel sorry for that golden generation of the czech football, always playing good football, sometimes very close to reach glory, but never could make anything out of it, and there will be no more chances for guys like Poborsky or Nedved, its a shame.

It's kinda like Portugal with Rui Costa, Paulo Sousa, João Pinto, etc. I dont think Portugal will ever play as good as they did in 2000 (at least in the following years) but who wins in the end is what counts.

yeah i really think it's a shame that Czech Republic goes back home so early .. still, i sadly have to admit that they didn't deserve to get to the next round.. + a team with such defense would have never got really far..

GOOD JOB GRAHAM POLL!

When he booked that guy for the 3rd time I thought it was hilarious <3 shame he didn't score or something ^^
Anyway, also gj Australia, hope they do well also, since Australasian sides don't feature in World Cups very much at all.

I will be in a house in Whitby with all my family all weekend, should be a nice match atmosphere since we're all rooting for England! :D
