funny this thread popped up, just installed firefox 2 today its looking pretty swanky, but yeah good to see microsoft heading in the right direction with IE.
DavidM firefox actually needs to do something special now, if they wanna keep up with IE7...
Funny... Firefox doesn't have to do anything at all other than to keep its browser's security tighter. Keep up with IE7 you say? Microsoft wishes it was anyway close to Mozilla.
p.s: Firefox's new update is more like fixing a compatibility issue rather than adding a new feature. Doubt most Firefox users know the difference between web 1.0 and 2.0.

I find IE7 pretty horrible. Why can't you remove the back, forward, refresh and stop buttons? I have no use for them. Just takes up space the address bar could use.
Also, why can't I have the menu toolbar on the same row as the address bar? Am I missing something? It's the same reason I refuse to give Opera a serious go.

it's a user friendliness issue.
i personally hate user friendly programs....because they are aiming for BLOODY FUCKING NOOBS WITH NO CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING....and how these programs work make no more real sense. windows is generally going that direction but it keeps unlimited options to keep things making sense. but my mother (no fucking clue) can handle that unlogic shit, so they are sorta doing it right
anyway what i wanted to say: they try to keep IE the very simple noob-way.
many options and stuff scare people away.

plus they dont have a reason to worry about people not using their browser. they buy their operating system and IE is for free anyway...so they dont bother i guess
