Actually, the bakery is not there anymore either! I linked to the oldest available photo in Google Street (from 2009). The bakery disappeared somewhere between May and November 2013. If I linked a current photo it would be harder to believe it's the same place

I started by looking at the exif of the photo, which told me that it was made on 16.02.2003, which made it clear that it's the Iraq war protest. There was a lot of those happening in the US (and in the rest of the world) at the time, so no luck going that direction.

However, CompUSA suggests its in the US, and in the flower shop you see a blurred phone number... while the ending of the number is not super clear, it's relatively visible that the area code is 415... so San Francisco. Now, I went to search for CompUSA in SF, which, while closed, still had a yelp page with the address.

Wow! That is impressive detective work! I would have never guessed the 415 area code. I though that the image was some march in Germany. You should be writing these puzzles and not solving them.
