Password hints and Firefox 89

Post by smegu »

Now that the latest version of Firefox (recently released v89) doesn't display password hints anymore, I believe we're out of browsers that do.
Is there any known workaround to this? Can they be safely ignored?

The admin is aware of the issue and is in the process of fixing it. Good to know there is a temporary workaround, thanks.
The issue will be resolved ASAP, some levels are unsolvable without the hints.
Meanwhile, for those of you stuck, visit the Discord server or the IRC channel, someone there should be able to supply the login hint as required.

I tested the latest version of Google Chrome (Version 91.0.4472.106) on the first 12 levels and the password hints have worked fine. It first shows the PH and then the boxes for un/pw.

Yes, the admin has installed a fix, all should be good now.

I think the people who have javascript disabled on their browser are kinda out of luck though.

Hey, if you look at the passworded levels on the german version (and chinese i think too) the password hints are not alerts.

Hello, has anyone got a browser that is showing password hints in the dialog box in 2023? Firefox & Edge don't work and I use Firefox so don't want to have to downgrade. Cheers. <3

AFAIK there is none, however all authentication hints should now appear as a popup when you click the link to the next level.

Thanks amh; the level I am on is a URL change so the pop-up isn't appearing after the jump.

I did find that if I use Edge and use "Internet Explorer Mode" I can get the password hint in the u/p dialog box. Now that I have the hint, I wrote it down and am continuing in my fav browser where I will continue to be stuck for the next 6+ months hahaa
