i've noticed a few things in various maps from a keepers point of view, seeing we unfortunately don't all have virtual reality helmets. its not always easy to determine how far away people are.
Cube, Small Cube, Tribun i've noticed especially that glowing lights (the ones that make that little fake puff of smoke that glows) really can abscure your vision of the ball when its far away, and these lights are unfortunatelly always in the keepers view. i call for some of these glow balls be taken out in the next version of deathball
I only really noticed this because some maps its ALOT easier to keep track of the ball because there is less of a foggy feeling. mixing with all the name tags and other bright shit.
sure it looks cool, but gameplay > graphics
anyone with me? keepers?

the walls warp depth perception... its science, not coronas.
The side walls need more features to them for your eyes to gague to and properly judge distance. Marks on the pitch, a big division line down the center, anything that you can clearly see from any place on the field.
When you look at a a line 1 meter infron of you you can easy guess how far away it is. When you see a 20 meter line its a bit harder. Anywhere past 50 is nearly impossible to guess accuratly. But, since 25 is 1/2 way, if theres another line there you can sort of guess that, you get a rough range of how far it is. Even if you cant you know that its twice as far. The more markers, the easier it is to judge distance.
Look at American football. Every 5 yards is a line accross the field and for the yardage in-between theres smallers lines on the side lines to gague distance so you dont have to guess.

just somethign to get a baring of how far stuff is... not even lines... a pipe that runs down the side of a map wall would even work.
Mind you, you dont need them on small maps, but ever since those pillars were taken out of cube i found it hard to judge distance...
the over-scaled bricks dont help either.

the walls didnt have lareg blue bricks on them back then and DB never really took off where i played it religiously till the pillar cube... You notice things more after they're gone.
When playing on Legofan i can shoot ove rthe wall at the enemy net from almost anywhere on the pitch because i can make the apex (highest point) of the shot relative to the wall and guage my distance. Hence why i like playing LegoFan.

Ok I took the coronna's off and it still sucked. i think its the color lights on the walls. it mixes with the colored skins making the other team seem invisible against the walls when they're further away. mix the darker skins with big bright name tags over there head (which i hate to turn off because i like to know who i'm passing to when i'm keep.) means its hard to focus on whats going on. its like playing a sport you need good sight with but your playing at night with the lights dim
small cube lags as bad as cube... just fly outside the map in spec mode and behold how huge it is.
I beleive it lags because the ceiling is so high and so wide when you look up it draws the entire ceiling thus lagging your comp does small cube really need such a large outside just so you can hide your pic in it? david?
