TweakDB Mutator?
I feel that the tweaking of DeathBall rules is overly controlled by Team Vortex. And that in order to test new rules and different options, we need full control over things such as volley speeds, sprint amount and recharge rate, which types of goals count, etc.
There are many more that I can think of, but I won't post them now.
What I'm asking is would it be possible to create a mutator that allows control over these things? I think the best way to have it would be the mutator reads a file (an ini?) which contains a set of rules. This way rulesets could be distributed for leagues, fun setups, etc.
e.g. Say I wanted to set up a low gravity, normal shot only competition (I don't, but there are similar things which I want to do). There is no way to do this atm, except to have admins watching matches and counting non-normal goals.
Or, maybe, as many ppl seem to think, we could tweak the shot power - volley power setup, and through community experimentation we may find a better setup than it is currently.
Oh, another idea. I was playing my brother in 1v1 (he's a n00b) and I wanted to handicap so that he moved faster, shot faster, etc. Obviously this is not possible atm, but would have been great.
Also, this could be a way for a server to link different rules with different maps. So it picks the ruleset based on the map being played. (So you can have sc vo, and cube non-vo for example)
I know no UScript, but I am experienced in other OO languages. I need to know is it worth learning UScript for this mutator, i.e. could something like this work? (The file system is not necessary, possibly its stupid, but at least the tweaking of settings?)
