minor 1.9 tweaks

Post by slim_pickens »

It seems many NA players think 1.9 is crap. Personally, I like it besides a couple issues.

1) pong sounds... lame.. being fixed.. no big deal...
2) replays - I don't want them disabled (like many want) ... but they burn WAY too much time in high scoring games. (VO) They should be skipped if a majority vote instead of unanimous.
3) end of match replays... holy crap these are brutal in VO games. I just sat through 45! replays last night. These should definitely be a server option and the majority vote should apply here too.
4) pass to boosted player should be allowed when boosted from own end or opponent boosts.

Those are the only things that ruin the gameplay for me...

Most (or all) of these have been mentioned previously but I wanted to put them in one place.

(5) physics volume pain causing bug needs to be fixed.
(6) map vote bug needs to be fixed. At the end of game, it won't come up.
(7) goalie spawn bug need to be fixed.
(8) fix the replay/ players are also spectators bug.
(9) fix the goal post icons for the middle radar.
(10) fix the drop the ball bug.
(11) fix VO mode to allow touchdowns.
(12) set the new "pong" pickup sounds to change of team only and not include lose balls
(13) slow motion replay needs to be faster - just a bit. (this is my opinion)
(14) better documentation for server setups. (a server section on the web site. Include all the setup info for db, dbw, and tennis)
(15) work to optimize the code to reduce lag.

Deathball, performance wise, has always been an issue. 1.9 seems to be worse than 1.8, performance wise. This area really needs some attention.

David has already replied to this. It's not a problem.. check your network settings and internet connection.

What I mentioned has nothing to do with network settings and internet connections. It is a problem that needs attention.

That and a Bool (server option) for league ;)

As I posted somewhere in another thread once, this could have many advantages and it's a good idea right? :(

This would also fix things like random keepers etc. and all the problems it brings during dbl-matches
Also think of auto-implementing league standards, serverside demorec, pausing rules, more control etc. etc. blabla

Well.. ::Pfffff::

New DB entitie or actor or whatever its called that stores information to change server settings for some of these

ie:

a volly only map will change the server to volly only is true... (whatever is in the server settings is default for those that do not contain this entiie.

so if db-smallenclosure has the entitie and say db-small cube doesnt

after db-smallenclosure . it will use whatever the server settings are rather then the settings from the previous.

this could save us all alot of headaches..

also allow touchdowns in VO mode. thanks...

And with lots of entropy as well.... Or, maybe he's cating the garbage file (hackers - I hope you've seen it ;))

I know the solution to the laggy stuff as well.. you need to buy a gigabit card for your machine at home along with a fibre installed to your local ISP. Some of the DRZ guys have this.. they're probably fine.
