what is a pickup and what does it do? please please help me i know i am probebally the stupidest person ever, but, well, i am new to ut and deathball
pickup refers to the games run in #dbpickup on quakenet irc. Its where clan players get the chance to play games which involve other clan players on a passworded server, which are usually higher quality games than on piblic servers.
If your new, check out #dba on quakenet irc also and ask one of the helps for some help. DBA is the deathball academy where noobs can b 'taught' the basics of the game, and get a gd understanding of it without being flamed by arrogant people on public servers.

1. ill explain what pickup is soon but im surprised u are asking (which is a good thing

3. A pickup is a system what makes games for 10 players, 2 sides
blue and red
and each side (team)
has 4 different positions to add in
on each team
2 players can do !add a (attacker)
1 player can do !add m (midfield, so u have to get back 2!)
1 player can do !add d (defender, he has to stay back, my favorite, but a big task)
1 player can do !add k (keeper)
then like noob1 does !add a
noob 2 does !add a
it sais keeper - / defender - / midfield - / attacker : noob1, noob2 on the board then.
if there are 10 players in total the bot makes auto teams according to a rating that has been given to u, a rating for def,midfield,attack , if u never played a pickup before u wont have a rating and get to play with the "good" guys.
like John has 3 points for def, 4 for attack, and 2 for midfield
Jesus has 2 points for def, 2 for attack, and 1 for midfield (no offence)
DavidM has 3 points for def, 3 for attack, and 2 for midfield
U will have 0 points for def, 0 for attack, and 0 for midfield, this means u get to play with John because his attack + ur attack = 4+0 = 4
Jesus his attack + David's attack = 2+3 = 5
So ur attack is bit weaker but if u play good and u deserve like 4 instead of the auto 0 u have, that means it would be in theory 4+4 = 8
vs the 5 attack of the other team,
anyway, i hope i have told u enough
the pickup bot is on #dbpickup on quakenet
u will notice when a pickup is on cuz its not 24/7, it has to be started by admins, if u added u will get a Private message with the password and ip of server, U have to play it and if u leave during the game u will get banned (this is to keep the game running)

The reason I asked is because I was playing a guy called ultra_noob the other night with a whole heap of other noobs. He was cool.
