eels don't have eight letters though.

And elephants don't eat peoples, they just trample 'em and leave 'em there.

woke up this morning and I had the answer. Well, technically I had the answer earlier, I just didn't know it. It's e-l-e-upsidedown d-h-a-upsidedown u-t:

David and Sarah's children are called Peter, George, Robin, Chris, Derek and Sam. If Peter has a sister-in-law called Claire, can you deduce who Claire is married to?

well.. Robin, Chris and Sam are unisex names.

George could be a unisex name I guess (short for Georgia etc)

It's Peters SIL so he can't possibly be married to her..

Derek seems the logical answer here as I've never heard of a female named Derek.

 yes

A scientist claims to have invented a unique machine that allows him to disappear for an hour, then re-emerge in the exact same point in space one hour later. He is keen to try it out. Why would he be ill advised to try the machine out?

Too easy this one lol

well let's say he uses the machine on his lunch break... noon

and he re-emerges one hour later at 1pm

He'd miss his lunch and be really hungry.

not a good idea ;)

Upon disappearing, air would take his place. When he reappears, he explodes.
