Some ideas for a mapping noob

I have just fixed the dark spot now. That means the physical layout of the map is complete. Now I just need to do the volumes and so forth. But because of the imminent release of 1.7 I may wait.
Db-TheWarehouse has taken me several weeks. This map has only taken me one. Mainly because I know what I'm doing now.

OK I've begun work on my next map. Here is the layout I have planned:
There will be a big room with raised platforms on the sides. The goals are on opposite sides of these platforms. In the middle of this big room, there is a pillar which the ball spawn atop of. The only way to reach the ball is to take one of the four elevators that sit in each corner of the map, up to one of the four tunnels that lead into this hollowed out area that surrounds the pillar.
I know that description is kinda vague but I imagine looking at the screenies will give you a better idea.
