i appreciate your kindness to that player, at the moment there is only one VO server (GameServers.net_-_DB_1.9_(02)_Mapvote - 62.212.74.18:7777) so when a player is vote kicked from a server with NOT-VO beacuse he dont play VO should not be tolerated beacuse there is a VO server to play on then

if this kind of things is happend again plz come to our irc chan #gameservers.net and i will tralk to them

Map Vote should be removed from the servers. As Smallcube is so popular make one server Smallcube only and volley only. The others should have maps on rotation or at least a mapvote where you can't vote for the 4 latest played maps. Most of the time it is not unusual to have 2-3 of the servers running Smallcube and when the map changes, everyone just activates map vote to get it back again.

As for the Custom Map server, again something needs to be done. As good as Avenir is for some reason that map always seems to be on there. Map rotation would mean we could play some of the other maps for a change.

And i agree with Onge @ more map rotations ( I just hate that one "DB-Avenir-all-the-time-serva" dunno which one that was at the moment but one GSnet i guess)

That's simply not a true statement. It's an excuses.

"I can't handle it. I don't like it. Something must be wrong with it. It can't be me!" = people crying it too small and the gameplay is nothing but spam. Simple human nature. It's the world of denial.

There is nothing wrong with VO. It just a shame the weak keep crying their excuses trying to knock it down. Just step out of the way and leave it to others.

I just hate the way people that are new to the game are force-fed the constant spammy 5on5-sc (or avenir) public server CRAP.

They grow into the game (if they don't leave because of the players' behaviour when a 'n00b' does not understand and scores regularly) knowing nothing but VO and thinking it's skilled.

People these days don't understand the complexity and tactical depth DB *can* have, and VO is NOT helping.

As Optimal(correct me if I'm wrong) once said (and it's my favourite all-time DB quote: "DB is to VO as ballet is to an epileptic fit".

(I, personally as an admin try and take care of this problem as much as possible.
One thing we can not stop is the vote-kicking, what I *do* try is to take the time and explain VO to the 'n00b' (<-- dont like the word) and ask if he wants to play it. If he doesn't, big deal, I tell everyone he doesn't have to play VO, and if more persuasion is needed, I will just play regularly myself and prove them wrong =\ Maybe others will even join me.
Generally the message is "You can play VO if you want to, but don't force it on others, volley if you want to volley, play regular if you want to play regular..as an individual player."

I agree VO is a big problem on gs.net servers and I would definitely be all for removing smallcube and some other VO maps from 1 or 2 pub servers. Maybe even adding a "NO VO (ffs)" to the server line when joining..or something similar

This is nothing but Bull crap and just more crying. Same with the "VO is no skill" crap and the "it's pure spam" crap.

The reason I started this was because there is so many people trying to bash VO and force feed there own likes - long ball. Instead of suggesting that the servers be set up so people have the option of playing on a shooting server or volley only server, most just post untrue crap. Many suggestions are aimed at force-feeding long ball on everyone.

Some have made good suggestions for setting up servers to support both, however many of these include BS and crying suggesting everyone should play how they want.

Some new players will come and stay in the community for shooting, some for volley only, and some for both. Both game styles require skills to play. They are just different.

So many people try to suggest that long ball shooting games are better by posting lies about VO. Get off your high horse and due it right. Neither is better. Let people play both. Set up severs to ensure people have the option to play either. If a server is set to play both, go with the flow or bug out, don't force your will on other if your in the minority. If you don't have a place to play your style, then you should speak up and ask for a place play.

I support both styles. And I support anyones efforts to ensure that all players have a place to have fun. Is sad that so many are just selfish. Deathball isn't one or the other. It's both.

Most of the problems your having on Gameservers.net servers is due to poor set up. A volley only server with one small map. A custom map server that's never updated with new maps. Plus the voting setup has problems. No small custom maps added to the volley only server or bigger maps added to a shooting server.

Get the servers set up correctly and most of the problems will go away. Take the big maps out of the volley only server and replace them with small maps. Remove SC from one shooting server. Update the custom map server. Install popular maps from the custom map server on the other servers. Use the 4th remaining server as need to fill any voids.

Could you find a spammy match of VO? Sure. You could also see a poorly played match of regular. Or you could see a good skilled match in either style.

Can't say I've ever seen a non-spammy VO match. Maybe I've just been unlucky, or maybe our ideas of spam are slightly different.

VO is 90% spam 10% skill tbh, ive played this game for quite a while and there is much more skill involved when you include all the available options into the scoring method.
