You actually don't know for sure if it is a guy....
The only hint is in the diary: '.. i saw her walking with another guy..'

No..actually as it is now, he committed suicide, that's the most logical thing by far (yet other possibilities are open, of which the murder of Aya (the girl) is most likely), and since no other clue is given as to the identity of the skeleton, it's most probably the guy himself
