You're all acting like it's impossible to have fun in a public server without a huge change.
Taking down the pickup bot, or massively moving to the pubs with the entire community, changing server settings or adding servers..it's not necessary
If you can stop being a snob every once in a while..you'll figure out that pub games can be very interesting and very good.
The weak link factor doesn't have to be annoying.
Most 5on5 pub games are way more fun than the average 5on5 pickup
..well, they're really two different games tbh
but that might mostly depend on the way everyone play (far less dynamic, far less risky, far more serious).
Just hop in a public every once in a while and try to have fun
