i doubt one non-league style map would have weighed in the decision to change the gameplay of the map. just because your brother made it, doesn't mean it should be the highest consideration of what goes into the changes in new versions.
as for less activity, if you ask me, it came as a direct correlation to the increase in immature whining in dbmixer. i know i'm not the only one avoiding mixers and/or deathball in general because of the lack of maturity within certain people in the community
weisso, you're complaining just as much as the rest of us. so dont even try to avoid that detail. and what i was getting at is most of the maps FOR db are different styles then just a plain box. so if you change the goal size. you gotta change the whole map. kthx
difference is i'm complaining about the people, not the version. as for goal size, it would be up to the map author to change the goal size or stay with 2.3 goal size and not change it, not up to davidm to change the hundred+ maps that are in rotation on some servers.
Still, I feel the system doesn't work with, for example, old-skool or even NAdbl size goals.
Granted, I have little experience in the latter map..but I just don't think it's perfect for it
Either way, DB-Smallcube's and Cube's goals still feel closest to perfection to me, atm.
enjoy db while it lasts. cause i dont see it going anywhere but backwards if and when the new patch does come out. I still might play it. but believe it or not weisso.. there's people that hate this way more than i do.
deathball is already nearly done. the community implosion over an early beta, combined with a lack of respect towards new players, a lack of playing public games in order to help new players, and an overabundance of offensive players unwilling to try out new positions have combined to more or less put the nail in the coffin for deathball. whether or not it can be saved will be up to the community to fix these things.
