Hopefully they'll have a new engine by late 2004. :P
Or hopefully not. :\

only the lighting in the current engine sucks
for the rest we are not even close to what can be done with it

^ for once i agree with David

the Unreal Engine is what made Splinter Cell and most people that play that say it blows away UT2003's graphics even tho they were made on the exact same engine.

UT2003 IMO was a half ass effort on Epic's part, but still better than most current FPS games graphically. Now that the others are catching up and HL2 and Doom III will totally waste UT2003 they need to beef up the game and will probably just enhance the overall look of UT2004 to try and make it at par with the other releases even though its being build on the soon-to-be inferior gaming engine.

splinter cell's lighting is weird too

max payne's seems by far the best, tho its not good with dynamic things

may payne doesnt use the unreal engine i dont believe...

i know some of the stuff in Enter the Matrix looks sorta fucked up and thats on the same engine as Max Payne.

enter the matrix is a crappy comercial game, only supposed to make money, it cannot be good x_X

nobody said max payne uses the unreal engine... if it did it wouldnt look so good lighting wise

the radiosity rules, unreal doesnt even get close with the piss poor vertex lighting 0_o

lol, fucking stunning lights.

SplinterCell totally sux, but i like the lightning and stuff. Max Payne en ETM sux also. Raven Shield has great lightning too, but again, it sux.

I don't like realistic, sneaky games. It's to slow and boring.

Pretty offtopic huh?

Maeg thats what ETM is basically... bullet time + matrix moves = eye-candy pwnage.
