it just makes game fun... well not if the game didn't mean anything but if it is an important game ties suck, just not nearly as much fun to play in, the idea of two teams being equal is utter bs, it is impossible, no two teams can completely cancil each other out, but anyway, don't put pks in unless you figure out a killer way to do it cuz a half ass way could seriously fuxor up the game

How do you know two teams can't be equal in skill? Granted it's unlikely two teams will be exactly the same, but if either team doesn't manage to get the edge and the game ends a tie, that ensues that both teams are pretty much the same skill-wise. If one team wins by GG it really just gives them something that they may think is worth bragging about, like having a GG victory instantly makes them better.The league we are having here in Australia, we have matches end in tie. However for the semi and grand finals we will have GG on.

teams playing the so that they don't get the edge over the other team is not the same thing as being equal, or even playing equally, i am just saying that the arguement that if you tie a team you played them equally is bs cuz it is, i have tied much worse teams (due to carelessness) and tied teams that are better than my teams, it is the same thing with wins and loses. so the real questions so what is the point of ties? sure they make game not run over but that is just about there only good feature

it would be a bit of a shame to work your socks off for the whole of normal time, earn a draw and then lose out to a lucky goal in et with no possible comeback. that's what you'd get with the golden goal.

plus what makes you think ties can't be fun?

they CAN be fun, and yes shit like a crap gaol will happen but i think that is a small price to pay for the tension that gg can create (tension is fun makes you either play better or worse depending on the person and make you want it badly, loads of fun)

ties suck ass , no 2 teams are "excactly" the same so golden goal ( penalties) could show that slight , minuscul difference between the 2 teams , but yeah it sucks in league .....

So why couldn't penalty kicks create a similar tension? While your shooter as taking their crack at the opposing keeper, you'll be sitting there hoping that he'll score, whilst when the opposing shooter attacks your keeper there is the same tension keeping your keeper on his toes.

i does create tension but not fun tension, just like in soccer if you missed in db you would look like an idiot, maybe gg for like 10 mins or 15 mins and then pk if you really have to, that would be the best imo. i have played to many games that come down to pks (in soccer) and i just don't like them, i want to beat the team, not just wait until someone makes a mistake

theone yes it is perference (fuck trying to actaully spell things correctly ) but that doesn't mean i can argue for mine, there can be no right or wrong, and plus i argue all the time for things that davidm would never listen to, why stop there

Anyone for the Silver Goal?

Five minutes extra play and if both teams are still deadlocked at the end of those five, then there is ANOTHER five minutes of extra play. Pending that at the end of the 2nd oppurtunity in extra time, there is STILL a tie, penalty kicks are done. Now that is a good idea, The_One.

pity about those of us with time constraints on servers. but meh, we're not in your league so i don't even know why i'm whinging.
