or you could make a mode to cause a "sudden death" if the score is only split by 1 goal.

This way the team that is ahead has to score 1 more to win, and the team behind by 1 has to score to force a tie.

If the 2 teams are of equil skill, that means they have to score one more to prove it, not just play Turtle-ball after they score the first goal.
