It's starting to get some backing even with V3 (ventrillo and TS). I know it would break some hearts to see us go completely text silent.. heh.

BTW, UT2004 will have the voicecomm integrated.. I am really looking forward to that. Speaking of which, I heard a rumor that it will use TS as a plugin..

as soon as the signal got thru to the other players the situation is already over

Its great to talk out strategy and how to break the other team's defense. What we did wrong, and what can be done to fix it. It is also useful for a nice little pep talk every once and a while.

thats why with all voice coms, you need to add the o-so-handy mute feature :)

if you put it ingame , then other people (noobs) will use it too and then they might get involved in the game much faster and .... its a new feature wich makes db way cooler

If the server that hosts db also hosted a communication software (i.e. Teamspeak2) you would have everything. server would advertise in MOTD the ip for communication, peeps can connect to it and chat it up, server could provide a red channel and blue channel. There db and comm are available to players from the same server. Be prepared to learn a few foreign languages.

This is one great way to make new friends and expand your knowledge of the variety of cultures we have here on our small planet.

David, i would write a grotesquily long reply to how stupid you are, but it hurts my head to try and figure out how thinck you have to be to say that a voice comm is useless in DB.

Out of all the replies, almost all of these people use a 3rd party Voice program of some type. They cant all be wrong.

I know v3 has used it a bunch of times. It not necessary, but it does help. And we use it for pugs now too in NA. Ill take conversation over silence or the crowd noises any day. The first reply of "voice comm is useless for DB" is a steaming pile, seems like most of the db community uses or has used it many times before.

yes we used ts once, but some of our team couldn't handle the bandwidth, so we don't use it anymore.
integrating it with db would be good.

Used it in a match...but, us being Muppets, we were in 2 seperate rooms...so 2 of us could talk...and the other 2 could talk, but the striker talking to the keepah isn't all that usefull!!!!

I didn't notice this EXTREME lag u talk of...found it VERY useful.

TFO uses teamspeak all the time. Whether we are just browsing the web, practicing, scrims, playing #dppug (^ Xelent) or a league match.

It is such a handy tool.

And contrary to what others have said, TS actually improves moral. If your in a clan that shits on for every mistake or missed goal/play you make, then I would have to say your playing with a bunch of assholes.

However, I can see somepeople abusing this feature in public servers, but then the "mute" button would be your best friend. Benefits way out number any possible negatives.

You should intergrate it DavidM or at least talk to teamspeak about creating a plug in.

I'm not a member of a clan, however, i do play with a friend on regular occasions, we use roger wilco for it, and with 0.3sec lag between us, i can shout 'GO LONG!' and fire the ball as far away as poss.. knowing that my m8 will be there to catch it.

So long as theres a 'mute' button, or a 'private message' button (Allow you to talk to specific members, rather than the entire team) i'd be happy to use this.
