to be honest, I wouldn't waste too much time fixing up this map, it has too many gameplay issues, just try not to make the same faults in the next map

thats how I use to work for years, when a map has major flaws I stop working on it and just analyse the faults and prevent them the next time

so you always say "my next map is my best"

The map looks good apart from the sky box and lines.

The lines - I used the same floor texture in Small Enclosure. I used humanoid architecture bas06HAB and changed the color to suit my needed for the lines. You might try looking at the Humanoid architecture package to see if something suits you.

The Penalty box is too small - reference cube/small cube for the size.

For a map where you can fall off easy, the size may be too small.

The platform near each goal are not the same distance from the p-box. Becareful with these platforms. Too close to the goal and they may give an attacker a huge advantage. I would suggest moving them out a bit more from the penalty area.

Jumppads are fine but dangerous. I like your idea but currently the one that lead to the goals will be abused with quad jumping. If you could have them shoot farther from the goal area they would work nice. (your map would need to be bigger) Test your pads out well to avoid them being abused with quad jumping. (I would suggest that a player could not get inside the p-box using a jump pad and quad jumping.)

Stuff in the playing field is fine and can make a map fun to play. Some deathball player are very comfortable in there play style. ( cube/ november) They tend to find annoying anything that interfers with their normal style. Some deathball player like the challange of adapting to a map. New tricks, new tactics, new moves, ect... I think the platforms and the ball area in your map make it interesting. In my opinion- keep it. (Just be careful with stuff in the field. Done wrong and they can be abused or annoying to everyone)

I think if you kept the basic principle of your map and re-worked it, this map could be a very nice and fun map. I suggest you keep with it. Larger size playing field, jumppads and the platforms near the goal re-worked to avoid abuse, bigger P-box, and improved skybox and lines. I look forward to your next version.

Additional thoughts:

I not a big fan of maps without walls. However, people do enjoy spaceballs][ (yes, I do play it) A partial wall might cut some ball resets and players falling off.

yeah, i see the lines really do suck, i did originally try the lines used in db-cube, however they didnt seem to suit the style of the map. i also had smaller goal areas (the final release has biggers ones) but after more testing i see it is rather small. at least i have some ideas to bear in mind when i work on my next map. thanks for all the good and bad critisism's.
