I totally agree with The_One. I'm constantly looking for new tactics or tricks that I can use in my games, and I usually manage to find a new one every now and then. DB 1.8 is the best version that Team Vortex have made. Although I disagree with some changes they are making for 1.9, I'll more than likely adapt to them, and I'll enjoy it just as much as I do now, if not moreso.

You say, that there are no new tricks? You're completely wrong. The problem is, the lack of different maps. Yes, yes, I know that I've pointed this out more than enough, but think about it. Once you've played one cube, you've played them all. But when you play November, you often play a little differently to the way you'd play on Cube. This is because of the lack of back wall that a lot of ego whores usually relied on.

So what's the solution? To get maps that offer a change from the traditional Cube. If you take a look around the mapping section of these forums, you'd find a wide range of different maps. Some follow the typical pattern of the cube map, with the same style of gameplay. But you would also find some really interesting ideas that people had to change gameplay. Take for example, DB-Slamball. Due simply to the nature of this map, it will change the gameplay completely and inspire new tactics that would not have been possibe on any of the cube maps.

My point is, DB is great the way it is, but more support needs to be given to the mapping community.

i know nobody cares but...

there is 1-2 new teams in NA and new ones are forming as we speak....the reason is because people are starting to be drawn to db again because of this version. i agree i like 1.3b and 1.4b too but the thing we need to look at is the fact that alot of new people are learning on this version. To them this is new and fun(otherwise they wouldn`t play) we will be getting a public clan server. We are also looking to the community to donate for 1-3 public servers as there are in the euro part from game servers. I am hoping this will bring more people for NA and the overall game itself. btw for any NA players the NA community is on irc.pgpn.com
channels are #ballers, #dbpug and the NA community site is http://www.deathball.us :p

DB is very fast paced when sprint is on, and a lot of fun. Though us Aussies seem to be the only ones using it. ;)

omg, finally stop the 1.4b praising, it's such a horrible thing with today's playing style.
No limitations, full of whorish tricks, no way to stop em for the def....jeez, there is nothing good about 1.4b

David you don't realize how much laming, horrible tactics, no boosting is better than this 1.8 garbage.

1.4b was fun because the mod was new and there was always something to master, 1.8 on the other hand has the same lame tricks as the previous versions. Such as 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7. I agree with rage but don't make it too different. Not that you will be but, I want 1.3 or 1.4b back :(

Go play another game then dipshit.

Or create your own game.

You don't like it, or you think you're too good for it... Then just plain fuck off.
You won't be missed.

i hafta kinda agree here. granted i love playing deathball, but the game play is rather stale, even on pubs.

boosting is fun, but the best things that happen in games seem like freak accidents, ie getting boosted relly high and scoring with what looks like a slam dunk.

i dunno how to fix it :) but its getting stale, we need multi ball /w ball resets in the middle of the field on goals with no stopage of game! that' d be kinda fun ;)

Howbout a 'silly' db-extreme version..like tennis, included with the package but loose from db :)

Like that ut2k3 normal weps mod...excessive i think it was called :) It's really unbalanced and overkilling the overkill sometimes..but it's fun and spammy in an..exciting way :p

Try something like that with db ;) i think a lot of ppl will like it :(

Things like multi-balls...dribble...maybe even a bit faster just generally..like putting gamespeed up to 120% or higher..maybe these things associated with power-ups, whatever!

I dont c harm in more playing modes..this or an online rpg mode wud be funfunfun :p
