I wouldn't know about that.
What or who is this "Helmit Boy"?
Is he some sort of Super Hero?
Does he inform building site workers of the dangers of falling masonary?
Please explain.

how about making volleys more powerful the closer they are to your body... this would have some interesting effects

Played a horrid game last night on 123/4 cube server...some 1 called "player", so obviously a n00b, volleyed the ball whenever it got close to him, in whatever direction he happened to be facing...even when he had loads of room to pick it up.

Problem is, the good players use volleys, bounce volleys and shoot passes almost more than locked passes, and to good effect...n00bs see this, and therefore want to do it too...so they try...thing is, how are they gonna learn without trying and failing first??

As for the radius being smaller for D: This makes it too easy for volley-whores to score, as they don't have to be as close to the ball as the D do to clear it. Radii should be the same...and i don't see why the power should be different either...just decrease the values for them both.

Surely David is fixing this in 1.9 with lowering volley power. \\o/

I'm looking forward to some nice close low scoring games.

Reduce the volley radius, make volleys harder to time...they are too easy as it is...this will help BOTH situations.

i suggested charge volleys before. what if you can only do volleys if you hold down the mouse for a second or two? it would kill some of the spam at least...

I personally think volleys at the moment are fine, it's the amount of long passes/an inability to get into the right position on the part of the person accepting the pass that's the problem :). This is nothing like the volleyspam there used to be when they were first implemented... if people don't shoot any more well that's their loss, because imo it's much easier to score a straight shot than a volley :). And chargeable volleys are a bad idea because then there's no room to use your reflexes to make an important save/clearance.

I will agree that certain moves (again) are being whored by teams which involve volleys... but meh. perhaps reducing volley speed back to what it was, or capping the speed of the volleys would work since most tricks seem to be based on a player being boosted and using that speed to add onto the ball's to leave the keeper with no chance...
