David, in an ideal world I would agree with you. However, we are talking about your typical DB player here
. Unless you specify a mid type player with some defensvive responsibility, a lot of pickup games will end up with 3 goal hangers and the sweeper isolated. I reckon 1-1-1-2 is the way to go

gotta have at least 1 extra at least thinking about D.
in most good clans, this wont matter, cos the team knows how to play and auto looks for boost back to d, but in #pickup its full of wallwhorin , 1 man att monsters, so if you got 3 of them as your atts none of the slags will be thinking about boosting bak, theyll just sit their ass upfront saying "im A , i dont need to go back" making the sweeps life "fun"

but you can still choose a different formation if you start a pickup (-form k-d-m-a). Random is disabled by default now, but can be enabled upon a pickupstarter's desire (-allowr).

in NA... all the pugs are played 1-1-3
and all the attackers ('cept one) get boosted back to help the defense.
