ya, got it wrong. you know I hate it.
We all have to see the effect of the new ball. But still missing the new altfire volley (with banana) until we can start betatesting.

Forget the radius, just lower the latency - if you react quick enough and are close enough to the ball you deserve to save it...
Kind of how I wanted to explain it but not exact, but any way, my reactions are fine but merely touching the outer ring isnt a save :p
I think thats what I meant any way

ball in goal = 1 point. doesn't matter if someone's carrying it or not.
davidm won't change it.

the only thing i'd hate to keep in db 2.4 is the "rmb" + "lmb" volley... where someone hold the rmb down when someone passes, let it deflect in one direction, and then shortly after hit it in another direction... if we could get some delay between bounce and volley, i would be so glad

no! i dont score as it is and thats the only way i can score tbh
-edit- yes bed now

why don t you see the prob on volleys davidm?
U say without delay keepers would kick away everything, even with larger goals.
As i said before, currently there are 75% volley goals.
Do think this will change with larger goals? When the keepers got a lower a delay than now? That would make shots even harder, and thanks to that MORE volley spam.
Once upon a time u had a version, where volley was overpowered and it was spammed all the way. U fixed that cos u didn t want to have volley spam. Now you are heading back to that point!
Guess i can t change your mind anyway, so i have to wait for the beta. Lets see what the changes are leading to... i am afraid of the future

First of all... a goal is a goal is a goal... 1 point, that's it... I'm with DavidM and all of his supporters on that line... you want more? That's why Bombing Run exists. The whole goal size and volley spam and whatnot, nameless is hitting this shit square on the head. Bigger goals will mean more volley spam, although being a big hockey fan I always enjoy seeing a nice one-timer shot, but I don't have anything against the way goals are scored. By any means necessary... some people are good at setting up volley goals, others are better at finesse plays, some are good at regular shooting, it varies. Just let them score goals however they want, but give the keeper a chance.

what's wrong with 75% volley goals? you make it sound like a problem
I only know that it will be a much better feeling for keepers. so they can't say "saved" because it won't go through them on their screen, they will have it then!. But they got much more work to do moving wise

Assuming that the size of goals is increased, will there be an accompanying increase in the size of the p-box?

Good question. The answer should be yes...

One thing I've been wanting to ask for a long time but have always neglected to do so, and a problem I think others that play pub often will agree upon..:
It sucks to not have anyone spawn keeper at the first round.
That's always one goal lost, why not just randomly spawn a keeper?
Most people know how to get out of spawning as keep anyway, and almost nobody takes the responsibility in a pub :\
