Great draw for Angola! Mexico should have put away at least one of their chances though. The Angolan keeper played really well (bar a few dodgy moments) considering he hasn't had a club for over three years. Surely someone out there must need a goalie? Is he usually rubbish or what? A lot of diving going unpunished in that match. A few yellows earned for 'fouls' because of it too. Would be good if FIFA could take some retroactive action on this kind of behaviour.
Looks like Angola have a chance of getting through now.

João Ricardo is somewhat of an inconsistent keeper. He used to play for Moreirense, and i can say that he once allowed a goal from the opponent keeper in a goal to goal long pass, so that's saying a lot.
watch it if you like (<3 youtube):

but a mistake like that could happen to anyone, i think, and he is capable of doing great saves, for sure.

Surely if a team shows great skill and produces great goals .... they 'deserve' to ? I'm not saying that's how it all works, just if you had to pick a winner from the matches played so far, based on performance and results ... well seems pretty obv to me
I still think anything could happen in this cup, it's still fairly open

Sure Argentina had a superb result (can't say how good the exhibition was, i didn't watch it) but i didn't thought their game against Ivory Coast was that great, so... let's just wait to see what Spain and Czech Republic can pull off in the second game.

Yeah I thought Spain was on good form as well.
Tomorrow's matches should be interesting as well, and Portugal is playing

always nice to watch them play (I'm allowed to have at least one girlie moment)

Argentinian players really play for each other, lovely teamwork and deadly finishing.
If they carry on like that, theres no stopping them.
Best team of the tournament so far?
I'm sure most teams would rather face Brazil than the Argentines

Well, if Portugal goes through to the Round of 16, Argentina could be our opponent, and, tbh, that doesn't scare me much. (maybe it should, i know)
but as long as we don't play against Greece i'll always feel it's possible. XD

Greece, officially the best team in Europe. Hard to believe they won.
You shouldn't fear any side if you have aspirations of lifting the cup.

So Portugal are through. Rather defensive looking considering they were playing Iran. Must be the Scolari influence.

I think we played better this time. Much more possession than Iran, more chances and the result was good enough.
I think that our team was pretty much solid in the defense and good on offense, which is a good sign, but it will be very hard to get to the Quarter Finals, Holland or Argentina are great opponents.
Iran were a lil bit dissapoiting in this world cup, if you look at their players i think they have the second best team in this group.

Portugal were better in the second half but not much. Didn't seem to commit many men forward until the first goal went in and even then, not that many.
Nah, Mexico are better. Iran offered pretty much nothing up front. Some decent strikers and Portugal might have lost.

Ghana!!!
I thought that there were a lot of bad calls in the game, I still don't understand the red card.

I said after the Czech Republic v USA match that you couldn't read too much into the result as the USA were so poor. I guess I was guilty of that though.
Although I was impressed by Ghana against Italy, I still expected the Czechs to win. Hats off to Ghana, they certainly played the better football. It could have easily been more than two.
Some credit has to go to Ghana's defence. It had a greater intensity than against the Italians but the absence of Koller shouldn't be underestimated. The Czechs never got their passing going.

gg Ghana , well played imo
I remember thinking last time I saw them in a cup, they will only get better ... seems again they are proving they can and will ! good luck to them o/
