I have a 9800pro, I wish I had a 5950. I will never buy ati again. Nonethless, if you run stable with ati, then it is the superior card. Pity ati drivers suck so hard...
not only Ati drivers suck for linux, as linux doesnt use DX9 (obviously) which is where ATi outperforms nVidia, in OpenGL nvidia can be a lot faster.
as for Greyfoz if u use Windows, i recommend a 9800XT over FX5950. i could tell you to wait for pci express blah blah, but when pciE express cards arrive, sum1 will tell you: "no u should wait for the cards coming in a few months", those few months pass, and sum1 says again, "WAIT for the faster cards that will be release in a few months...." this goes on and on and on
