Geek philosophy, that's right... DOH!
Seriously, a little for the brain and alittle for the drain. I can go for that any day.
A common factor... DOUBLEDOH!
Edit (Ultima IX revisited): Don't mix computer games and religion. Unless you want to make a complete fool of yourself:

Needless to say, I abstained.
Abstinence in the virtual world..You go girl!
Abstaining, loving and forgiving are no problem as long as things are easy and temptations aren't big..
Nice link that xD made me laugh :>
Reminds me of this guy in #notpron that said he had proof for the existence of God

In the end he blamed his inability to convince us on ADD, and he had to go to his gf immediately. He stayed on for a while to convince Bunny in a PM though; odd...maybe he was trying to get out of it ;o
It's just a matter of ignorance I guess

Yeah that was fun
Look at the gem I found on the site Midget linked us to:
http://christiananswers.net/gospel/goingtoheaven.html
...This is so wrong *shakes head*
80% of Americans (did they include people from Chili, Mexico, Brasil etc.? I bet not..) is...ignorant
!WARNING! YOU HAVE FAILED REALITY!
Yes, yes...I know that's about as wrong as the way they're reasoning
I wasn't serious
edit: Watching the first few minutes and the last 6 or 7 minutes of that video is enough..the rest is worth it though
edit2: This one is beautiful:
http://christiananswers.net/q-aiia/ques ... ptics.html
All those 'fulfilled prophecies' they speak off all have to do with prophets from the Old Testament foreseeing the coming of Jesus Christ.
They forget to question the authenticity of Jesus Christ (as well as the character traits he is given) /o\ so the 'proof' seems irrelevant to me

Give me strength!
I'm sorry, but after 10 sec of that video and mr. confusion, I've got aggrevated, a headache, internal hemmorage and a deep rooted belief that this world is gioing down the drain. Like that intro: "We're not here to teach you that you are wrong and that you are going to hell, but you are x2, so there...". These guys make life really hard for an agnostic such as myself. I think I'm one step closer atheism. Just for the hell of it!
Σ:-(
Edit: I ended up talking to this J-wit, and he had positive, undisputable envidence of god's existence.
J-wit: "See that tree over there...?"
Me: "Uh, yes???"
J-wit: "That's positive, iundisputable evidence of god's existence."
WRONG! That is positive, undisputable evidence of us seeing a TREE, goddamnit! (Omiting rather dodgy philosophical concepts questioning that last point, coz I've had it.)
2nd edit: And this is for p#@*%&g me off: I suppose that for someone basing their life on virtual reality, it's kind of threatening to have that VR challenged by a different VR.

ps: Imo, truth is something we will likely not obtain, maybe we will some time, but not likely in this lifetime
So people fill in their own truth.
The problems come from people's truths colliding with eachother.
Old theologies like that of the egyptians or the greeks were a lot more tolerant.
There are stories of Egyptian princes travelling to countries like Babylon and taking dieties home just 'because they liked them a lot', even though it was technically another belief system.
The problem started when people started saying: "No, there's only one God(/one truth) and that's our God!"
It helps if there's 'positive, undisputable evidence', because if nobody's able to reach succes in challenging that evidence (yet), this will creaty unity (= efficiency, peace, etc.; pick what's important to you
I have a rather utilistic approach to society as a system - though it's a personal question whether you prefer society to thrive or to look for your own happiness outside of so called (economic) 'succes').
In the end people will (likely for a long time, if not forever) always think differently about the truth though.
I'm ok with people hanging on to their beliefs, and even if they feel happy changing it around to fill up the gaps between 'positive, undisputable evidence', that's ok with me
Even if Christianity is a matter of ignorance, if ignorance means bliss for them: Why would I want them to change?
pps: Why do I always write post-scriptums that are longer than the actual posts?
